What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy uses gentle guided imagery, metaphors and subtle language patterns to help you access your subconscious programs and change limiting beliefs, behaviours or unwanted patterns. Unlike stage hypnosis, you will feel relaxed yet empowered. Hypnosis feels much like the trance states we enter every day when we   zone out to the TV or day dream. All hypnosis is really self hypnosis; you remain awake, aware, very focused, yet feel deeply relaxed as you use the power of your subconscious mind to release fears, behaviours and beliefs that you wish to change. Clinical trials show it is effective for relieving anxiety, chronic pain, phobias, low self esteem, exam stress, weight loss, quitting smoking, addictions and many other conditions. Hypnotherapy is more widespread than you may be aware and medical hynosis is a therapeutic tool that is now used in some hospitals for anaesthesia, chronic pain, pain reduction during labour and cancer support.

What is Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT/Tapping)

 EFT combines tapping  acupressure points with cognitive behaviour therapy, exposure therapy and positive psychology. It  has been clinically shown to reduce the body’s hormonal stress response quickly and effectively, impacting gene expression, stress hormone production and the effects have been demonstrated in MRI brain scans.  EFT is simply the most powerful technique for reducing anxiety, tension, pain and intrusive memories that I have encountered in 25 years of practice. For centuries, acupressure point therapy has been used for treating ill health in China and Asia. The latest neuroscience research has shown that the stimulation of acupressure points with the fingers sends calming signals to the brain, inhibiting  the fight/ flight response and impacting the expression of over 70 genes in a single session; genes responsible for inflammation and immune response, insulin regulation and tumour supression.  EFT has been shown to be  clinically effective in treating anxiety, PTSD, addictions, reducing physical and emotional tension, reducing exam stress, improving sports performance and many other conditions. EFT promotes relaxation and boosts immune function. EFT is easy to learn and can be taught to children and adults in individual sessions or workshops.
