When we are stressed, our bodies release large amounts of the the stress hormone cortisol throughout the day that impacts our immune system, our metabolism and our moods. When we are feeling stressed, we dream more and the deep restorative sleep cycles that stimulate cellular repair are shortened. This can lead to waking up feeling exhausted each morning.
